During NYFW the gamut of designers that showcase their work is vast and this year there's much to be said about what's been coming down the runways. The collections that were an instant favorite belonged to the designers that best encapsulated what their consumers want to wear while introducing new concepts, silhouettes and color into the mix.

Alexander Wang made a bold move for his fall show by introducing an all-black collection that was tough and a bit goth. Rodarte unveiled a glimmering collection that was pure glamour; while The Row stayed true to the brand with strong tailoring to each of the looks.

There surely has been no shortage this season in terms of design that was brazen and completely unexpected.
