Dior and I

"I'm a designer, and for me, things are always evolving, and such evolution is necessary."

Behind the doors of Raf Simons studio is a space where Dior’s most exquisite pieces are designed, created and meticulously executed; there is little room for error in a process that is more emotional and taxing on the mind and soul than you would expect. The documentary “Dior and I” is a masterpiece that explores in great depth the man and the creator behind the French luxury brand.

“I see a parallel between the relationship that [Raf] can have with the founder of the house and the legacy, and the relationship that I can have with my subject. And it’s a struggle to establish the right distance and to honor your subjects, but also to honor your own voice,” said Frédéric Tcheng who filmed the expose.

Tcheng spent nearly eight laborious weeks filming Raf and his atelier creating a story and a concept that is never publicized in the realm of fashion; the art of design and the creators behind it.
