Tokyo fashion week produced a dizzying array of spellbinding collections—clothes that packed a sartorial punch with forward-thinking designs that encapsulated Tokyo’s fervent street-style and their flare for avant-garde, anything goes approach to style. No other city, does street-style quite like Tokyo’s devout fashion patronages who can be found wearing anything from Comme des garçons to Vivienne Westwood or a medley of secondhand finds. Tokyo’s booming street-style also boasts fashion subcultures—neo-punks, goth lolitas, Harajuku girls and dandies to name a few—each define style on their own terms and allows for true fashion expression at its finest.
