Iconic Hair at the Oscars

Iconic Hair at the Oscars

The Oscars are just around the corner! Sure, the dresses are always the centerpiece (aside from those golden statuettes, of course), but sometimes it’s the hair styles we remember most. From Kate to Angelina, we’ve recapped a few of our favorite looks from past years, here.

Angelina Jolie, 2009.

The Best Actress nominee’s half up, half down was classic and anything but boring. It also allowed for a better look at her gorgeous green Lorraine Schwartz drop earrings.

Michelle Williams, 2006.

Remember Michelle Williams, pre-pixie cut?  This wispy look was the perfect way to finish off the Best Supporting Actress nominee’s elegant, yet still youthful, just like her golden Vera Wang gown.

Jennifer Lawrence, 2011.

J-Law’s uber sexy and unfussy hair was Oscar perfection. The 70s, Farah Fawcett-esque ‘do, when paired with her fire red Calvin Klein dress, made for major red carpet moment.

Sarah Jessica Parker, 2010.

If you are going to wear your hair in a giant bun, there is no time like the Oscars. SJP pulled it off effortlessly with her Chanel column dress and a wrist-full of bangles.

Kate Winslet, 2009.

Winslet, who took home the Best Actress Award for her role in The Reader that year, could have also snagged the Best Hair Award. The sleek, sculptural look only added to her winning Atelier Yves Saint Laurent gown and Chopard jewels.
