Iconic Skin at the Oscars

Iconic Skin at the Oscars

As we come up to the big Oscar weekend we must remember how important it is to prep. An iconic red carpet look begins with iconic skin. We touched base with a few of our favorite skin specialists to get their advice on how to achieve that flawless look.

LANCER

"Iconic beauty is the unique combination of the radiance that comes with true confidence and joy, complimented by a flawless complexion.  Look to icons of the past who perfectly embodied this trait; Katherine Hepburn, Audrey Hepburn, both strong, outspoken individuals, celebrated for their beauty." - Dr. Lancer

To get skin glowing for a major event, you need to start incorporating daily exfoliation in to your Skincare routine approximately a month before the date of the event. Cleanse your skin in the morning, nourish and protect it with an SPF of at least 30. At night, remove any makeup and rinse skin with warm water. When skin is damp apply a dime-sized amount of exfoliant in small circles, moving from the center of the face outwards and upwards. Apply a cleanser to rinse the skin of dead skin cells and any remaining debris. Apply an antioxidant-rich moisturizer while skin is still damp to seal in moisture. For added results, incorporate a glycolic-based cream to your nightly regimen.

ST. TROPEZ

Prep: It is important to first shave, shower and exfoliate—especially those rough areas: elbows, knees & feet.

St. Tropez Body Polish is what is used on clients prior to applying bronzing, skin finishing treatments.

Self-Tan: When you're ready to apply, make sure your skin is clean and free of any lotions, oils perfumes, deodorant, etc. This will help you get a smooth, even finish. I prefer the St. Tropez Bronzing Mousse because it’s super lightweight and easy to apply. Start at your feet and work you way up. It helps if you have a full mirror to check that you are not missing any areas. Use 2 pumps of product and glide on with mitt. It is important you allow 4-6 hours for the product to develop. So avoid water and working out during that time.

Make sure to use the St. Tropez Applicator Mitt to get a smooth, even finish without sacrificing your hands!

Finishing Touches: Finish your glow with St. Tropez Skin Illuminator. Available in Gold, Rose or Violet This creamy, shimmering lotion will give skin instant luminosity. Apply to key areas such as the arms, shoulders and décolleté to complete the golden look.
