Red Carpet Green Dress does it again!

by ICONHOUSE

The amazing Red Carpet Green Dress was represented at the 86th Annual Academy Awards ® by the dashing Kellan Lutz and Bond-girl Olga Kurylenko. Now in it’s fifth year the campaign has produced their first ever tuxedo, designed by New Zealand’s Jomnarn Dul of H Brothers. Kurylenko’s beautiful red gown was designed by Parisian fashion student Alice Elia. This eco-fashion campaign, founded by Suzy Amis Cameron, strives to draw attention to the importance of more sustainable practices in fashion and commerce.

These stunning looks were designed using even more stunning eco practices and technology; creating eco-fashion at it’s finest. Lutz’s tuxedo jacket is 45% certified silk and 55% rPET.  His pants are made of hemp.  The waistcoat is also made of hemp and 100-year-old spitalfield silk, and the entirety of his ensemble is plant-dyed. Kurylenko’s gown is made from 100% GOTS certified organic peace silk and 100% GOTS certified organic silk.  It was first hand-dyed with Sappanwood then over-dyed with madder root to give it a deeper shade of red.  Her vegan, faux-suede shoes are a first time collaboration between PETA and Beyond Skin, a UK-based ethical footwear and fashion label, for Red Carpet Green Dress. Beautiful pink and gold diamond jewelry from Bulgari completes her look.

"The talented team behind Red Carpet Green Dress have done their utmost to make sure their beautiful designs meet the highest possible environmental standards."

-Ilze Smit, Detox Campaigner for Greenpeace International
